To call abroad from Sweden, the easiest (and probably the cheapest) way is to use Skype via the Internet. In case you don't know, it's not just the software to allow Skype users to phone each other, but it also allows you to make a phonecall to landline and mobile phones around the world. And the call rate is quite cheap, starting from 0.189 krona per minute (here's the list).
Alternatively, prepaid phone cards for international calls can be purchased at corner shops run by immigrants or online (such as phonecards.se, available in English).
By the way, when you have to make an international call from your mobile handset, first press and hold 0. The zero on the screen changes to “+”. Then dial the country code followed by a telephone number.
